John Cawse

John Cawse, who was born about 1779, exhibited portraits at the Academy in 1802, and afterwards historical pictures. He is best remembered by his work 'The Art of Painting Portraits, Landscapes, Animals, Draperies, &c., in oil colours,' published in 1840. He died in 1862.
